Our Story

SHFTHero, founded in 2018, is the brainchild of Sydney-based entrepreneur Andrew Sue. From experience working in the hospitality industry, Andrew has witnessed the frustrations and limitations constantly experienced by venues and employees. Time and time again, productivity and growth is hindered by a large gap in the industry – the gap between venues that are short-staffed, and job seekers that are looking for more shifts. Despite the innovativeness of today’s world, the hospitality industry’s understanding of ‘work’ has remained unchanged, and thus, has become outdated.

We at SHFTHero want to change this. What is our goal?

To fill this ‘gap’ between the short-staffed and the underemployed, and bring the hospitality industry into the digital age…

The SHFTHero platform gives short-staffed hospitality businesses the opportunity to connect with and source experienced hospitality professionals, or as we like to call them, Heroes. Priding ourselves on our advanced technology, our in-app interface and algorithm gives businesses access to a large pool of flexible, experienced job seekers who are ready to help out and cover vacant shifts. With in-app profiles, a review system and messaging and video chat, SHFTHero awards users total transparency and efficiency, bringing an online reputation to hospitality. With a heavy focus on empowering our users, SHFTHero provides businesses with the tools to grow and expand, whilst giving job seekers the opportunity to take control and work to their full potential.

Since our founding in 2018, SHFTHero has taken Sydney by storm. Before its launch, SHFTHero had amassed a community of over 1,500 users, ranging from hospitality professionals to hospitality businesses across Sydney.

With the App and Employer Webpage officially launching in October 2019, SHFTHero has taken Sydney by storm, now operating across NSW - connecting short-staffed businesses with keen, ready-to-work job-seekers. We’ve got big plans ahead.

So, stay tuned, and #getstaffed.
